Makes a great primer for your Model 3.

Last week I met a couple of 17-year old lads named Takehisa and Shion from just outside of Tokyo who were here in Saskatchewan on a student exchange. I was invited by their host family to show the kids the Skyaak demo DVD and they were suitably impressed. Cam Tetault has done a really marvelous job putting the DVD together. I then demonstrated the assembly of the Model 3 as well as the brand new Mykro-Skyaak. They were very impressed that the whole thing starts off as a flat package and then virtually blossoms into a fully three-dimensional flying toy, all without the hassle of adhesives! At first they were both quite challenged by the novel configuration, but after careful explanation they both were able to successfully build their own Model 3. They found the assembly of the Mykro-Skyaak to be very helpful as a primer for the full-sized Model 3.























With Skyaaks in hand, we then all went outside to toss them around. It took a while for the two teenagers to catch on to the exact finesse hand-launch technique, but they immediately appreciated the potential and seemed to really enjoy the sensation of catching it when delivered with a fairly powerful throw, thanks to Spensor, Doug and myself.

After about twenty minutes of working it out, the lads caught onto it and suddenly they were both throwing awesome deliveries, accompanied by enthusiastic and impressed ' Aha' noises.

The coolest thing is that these guys were so impressed with the action they got out of their Skyaak experience that they committed on the spot to bring packaged versions ( 9" x 24" x 1.5".. like an oversize chocolate box) back to Japan with them in their luggage to show around and play with their buddies! How cool is that?
