Skyaak Enroute to Oz!

As we speak, Skyaak is winging its way to Oz, where it will be met by my good friends Kathy Baker and Brendan O’Keefe. I am so excited about this!

Brendan has connected with the folks that are launching an innovative event called "Weaving with Light" and he has invited me to send along the Skyaak Night-Lit model. We all feel that this is a perfect connection and like the song says, " I believe that my ideas will be appreciated by the people that really matter..."

I perused through the material on Weaving with Light that Brendan sent me a while ago and let me tell you, there are some very high-caliber presenters.

I think it is absolutely amazing that Brendan continues to run into ‘all the right people’. He certainly has a knack for it. And the fact that he is so willing to share these contacts with us is just great. Brendan has told me repeatedly that he is really enthusiastic about the potential of Skyaak in Australia.

Not only that, Brendan has alluded to a ‘Master Plan’ that he is in the process of brewing up that will introduce Skyaak et al to Australia in a huge way. We are just getting hints and tidbits of Brendan’s ambitions on this topic as time evolves...a good example would be our joint efforts to get the new www.MySpace.com/skyaak page up and running!

A little background on our rationale for bringing Skyaak to Australia...

Admittedly, it has been a bit of a trick to gain serious traction with Skyaak in the Canadian market. Rather than get at all discouraged ( not a frequent habit of mine!)

I started to think about why this could be so. I boiled it down to a couple of things...

1) generally speaking, our Canadian mentality is fairly conservative. We are not the sort of people that will whole-heartedly embrace something new and innovative. No offence to my Canuck readers, but let’s face it, we’re a pretty complacent bunch. I am hoping that this ho-humish attitude is evolving with the upsurge of a saavy new generation, but I ain’t gonna hold my breath. Hey! If you have an objection to this, I would be more than happy to have you prove me wrong! 2) here in Canada, we only get three or four months of summer weather...I’m being optimistic here...but rather than whine about this I have decided that Skyaak might have a much better chance of flourishing in a warmer clime. Australia, for example. I figure, why not open it up to a potentially year-round outdoor activity by simply introducing it to the Southern Hemisphere? Makes sense, right?

This is why I thought it would be intelligent to nurture contacts on the ground in Australia. Thanks entirely to the good old Law of Attraction, I put my feelers out and ‘BAM!’ I have now met two golden contacts in the Land Down Under. We are working together in Joint Ventures that have incredible potential to be mutually enriching. Not to mention, we are having such a blast getting to know each other and nurturing our personal relationships.

Thank you for your note. I see some problems with your proposal although I applaud your desire to help with the serious problem of ozone layer thinning. Ozone at ground level is of course an undesirable gas. It is often reported as part of air quality programs. High levels, due mainly to car exhaust emissions are considered undesirable. The best place for ozone is indeed way above our heads but it's not obvious how to get it there and the sheer amount that is needed to replenish the atmosphere is probably mind-boggling. What I am saying is that pumping it back into the atmosphere, assuming one could release it at the right altitude would probably be but a drop in the bucket.

Skyaak Night-Light Accessory Kit

Skyaak Night-Light Kit

Dylan and I got together last night at his and Jesse’s place in Saskatoon. After a hearty supper that Jesse concocted ( we dubbed it ‘broccoli-chicken-bacon-fettuccine featuring mushrooms’) Dylan and I got to work on outfitting a dozen Skyaak chassis with complete ‘Night-Light’ accessory kits. Dylan is coming to life as an electrical engineer in his capacity as Assistant R&D Engineer with Skyaak Enterprises.

I was very impressed with multi-step process that Dylan has engineered in order to manufacture the Night-Light kit. I am so wowed by his dedication and commitment to the project. It really seems that every step we take forward with R&D is exponentially more advanced.

I cannot resist the temptation to post at least a couple of photos of our research and development meeting/brain-storming session last night.

While we were busily constructing all of the various components that are part and parcel of the Night-Light kit, we talked about what all ought to be in the complete kit. It will have to include Glow-in-the-Dark bracelets, for example. Dylan and I have chucked around the Night-Light version and we love it. So does Gene Angers. You remember Gene from many previous posts. Gene strongly urges me to focus on the Skyaak Model 3, especially outfitted with the Night-Light kit! I’ve been hearing that a LOT lately from many respected friends and colleagues.
